Okay: The Frye is undergoing a little bit of installation, but its collection is stunning enough to warrant a visit, plus it's free and close enough to downtown.

Seattle Art Museum is a classic, my favorite thing there right now is an Imogen Cunningham show.

Really your friends should go to Pioneer Square and just wander, there are like 40 galleries really close together, free to the public, and open during normal hours. [link]
